Who is Rollguine? All about Me!
Hello and welcome!
My name is Rollguine (pronounced Ruh-Jean), but you can call me Morgan. I鈥檓 from Lexington, Kentucky. I graduated from Bryan Station High School in 2016 and went on to attend Western Kentucky University. There, I enrolled in the dual certification program for Elementary and Special Education. Like many educators during the pandemic, I started teaching a little earlier than expected鈥攎y first position came through Option 6 during COVID-19, and I鈥檝e been teaching elementary ever since. It鈥檚 been a meaningful and eye-opening journey that鈥檚 helped shape who I am as a teacher.

I decided to pursue both teaching abroad and getting TEFL certified because I鈥檝e always been curious about the world beyond my own classroom. I love teaching, but I also love learning鈥攁nd what better way to grow than by immersing myself in new cultures and educational settings? I want to be equipped to support students of all backgrounds, and TEFL training gives me the skills to do that wherever I go.
Some of my goals include becoming more confident in teaching English learners, expanding my global perspective, and making connections with other educators around the world. I鈥檇 love to document this experience to inspire others, and eventually take on leadership roles in international education.
I鈥檓 honestly both excited and nervous. I鈥檓 excited to meet new students, see new places, and challenge myself in ways I never have before. But of course, stepping into the unknown comes with nerves鈥攍ike navigating a new culture, handling language barriers, and being far from home. Still, I truly believe that growth comes from discomfort, and I鈥檓 ready to embrace whatever comes next.
