The Destination
Welcome to Dublin, a stunning medieval city with a diverse cultural scene.
Located on Dublin Bay in the Irish Sea, Dublin is Ireland鈥檚 capital city and economic hub. Dublin gets its name from the Gaelic dubh linn (black pool), referencing the dark-colored water of River Liffey running through the city. Since its days as a Viking settlement, more than a thousand years ago, this port city has attracted businesses and industries. In Silicon Docks, a short stroll from the city center, you can find the European outposts for Apple, Google, and Microsoft along with many others tech giants.
Lush green spaces, mountains, and plains give Dublin its beautiful natural scenery. Stone castles and buildings signal a rich, medieval past. Dublin Castle, originally built in 1204, sits atop Viking Age remains, and Trinity College, founded in 1592, is Ireland鈥檚 oldest university and home to the Book of Kells, written around the year 800. In addition to its rich history, Dublin boasts a modern and diverse cultural scene for art, music, literature, and food. Don鈥檛 leave without trying traditional Irish soda bread, rich Guinness stew, and colcannon (Irish mashed potatoes)!

Container Visit
Some of Dublin鈥檚 best lessons in entrepreneurship come with a side of coffee and donuts. Explore two of Dublin鈥檚 tastiest enterprises and learn inspiring lessons in business. At Container Coffee, you鈥檒l see how shipping containers were ingeniously transformed into a bustling caf茅 in a prime location. At Rolling Donut, you鈥檒l hear the story of a small donut stand that grew into one of Dublin鈥檚 favorite bakeries. Together, these delicious experiences reveal how quality, opportunity, and savvy business sense are the perfect recipe for success.
At Container Coffee, the founders share how they turned an empty space next to the Digital Hub (home to 75 companies and 700 employees) into an eco-friendly 鈥渢hird space鈥 while keeping costs low. You鈥檒l learn how strategic thinking and sustainability shaped their business while enjoying freshly brewed coffee and homemade baked goods in the courtyard.
At Rolling Donut, the aroma of handcrafted sourdough donuts fills the air as you hear about their journey from a festival cart in 1978 to today鈥檚 franchise. Sampling flavors like Ferrero Rocher and Unicorn, you鈥檒l debate favorites with friends while marveling at the creativity behind each bite.
This experience blends food, fun, and entrepreneurship, leaving you inspired to share ideas and create your own success story.

Docklands and Tech Giants Walking Tour
You feel the salty breeze off the River Liffey as you stare at the mammoth Custom House Quay, an 18th-century landmark steeped in history. This was the original site of Dublin's entry into the global economy, where merchants from around the world brought exotic products to Ireland鈥檚 shores. Today, this same location represents a new era of innovation. Known as 鈥淪ilicon Docks,鈥 it is now home to tech giants like Google and Meta, whose technologies have transformed the way the world connects and communicates.
The tour continues at Windmill Lane Recording Studios, the creative home of Irish legends U2. Music, you and your friends realize, is another global product that ties cultures together. As you explore the studio, you share favorite Irish artists鈥攆rom Hozier to Sin茅ad O'Connor鈥攁nd reflect on how music itself is an act of creative entrepreneurship.
This experience weaves history, innovation, and creativity into a powerful story of transformation. By the end, you鈥檒l see how bold ideas shape the world and unlock endless possibilities in global entrepreneurship.
